The project
-2 ... we are almost there!
What is the Van Adventure project?
Take a "sfaccendata Valsusina" eco-terrorist/noglobbal/subversive/etc etc... (in these years I got a lot of epithets by police officers, ex-employers, politicians and relatives!). Find a travel-buddy even more crazy than her, and ask: "what about taking an old wolskwagen van, the hippy one, and travelling south to north through
Chile?".
Well, here I am! The rocket is almost ready (isn't it beautiful? it's nearly bigger than the last house I lived in!). Wednesday, snow storms allowing, I'll fly to Santiago, and let's start!
Route?
Of course we'll decide the itinerary on the road, the departure is from Santiago, then south, while it's hot, trying to reach the very end of South America!
And then a U-turn, back to the north, between the Pacific Ocean on one side and the Andes on the other, 'till the Atacama desert and beyond!
Goals?
Places that I absolutely have to see: Villa Grimaldi, Neruda's house, Salvador Allende's Museum, a Inti Illimani concert, the Mapuche communities (last year a representative of Mapuche people came to visit us in Susa Valley, now I have to pay back the visit!), Patagonia, the Atacama Desert, and at least climbing one Andes peak (maybe not a 6000 metres high one, a "Alps size" is enough!).
Why the blog?
I feel a bit an exhibitionist writing a blog about my private stuff, but all the friends that know about the trip asked me excited to post photos and stories, so, why not?
And then after years of activism in Greenpeace, I'm used to be the victim of strange voyeuristic phenomena, such as friends checking the website or listening to the news to find out if I was arrested, or when my mother find out that I got bronchitis from the pages of "La Repubblica" one of the italian most important newspapers!
What else?
Ok, ok... there is something else! I found a great google service that, in change of a couple of advertise banners on my blog, will give me money (0.00...01 cent, maybe, but better than nothing...).
No way that I love advertise, but this trip sucked all my money, with your help, maybe, I will be not totally bankrupt when I'll be back in Italy!
What do you have to do? Connect to my blog (a couple of times per week would be awesome!) and click on the banner.
It will not cost anything to you, it will just open a link (that you are free to close immediately!), but I'll earn credits for that.
